There are four common transmission modes of three cylinder rotary dryer: edge friction drive, edge pin tooth drive, edge gear drive and center drive. There are some shortcomings in each transmission mode, but there are some shortcomings in each transmission mode.

1. Edge friction drive

(1) Increase the angle between the supporting roller axis and the cylinder center line

At present, in the commonly used edge friction transmission mode, the angle between the axis of the two supporting rollers and the cylinder center line is 60 degrees, which is the main reason for the friction transmission to slip and affect the increase of system output.

When the angle between the supporting roller axis and the cylinder center line is increased, the value is generally 30 °. In order to increase the friction force, it is usually increased to 45 ° to 50 °, that is, the angle between the axis of two supporting supporting rollers and the connecting line of the cylinder center should be increased from 60 ° to 90 ° to 100 ° at least. If it is 45 degrees, the positive pressure between the supporting roller and the tyre increases by 22.5%, which leads to the increase of the driving friction force by 22.5%, thus effectively avoiding the transmission slip. Therefore, it is possible to increase the output by increasing the cylinder speed. Of course, the bearing capacity and bearing capacity of the roller bearing must also be increased by 22.5%, so the bearing capacity of the bearing also increases slightly.

(2) Personalized design of edge friction transmission mode

As a rotating cylinder with material, the moving state of the material in the cylinder will change with the cylinder speed. If the supporting device is the supporting mode of supporting wheel and belt, the positive pressure on the left and right supporting wheels is not exactly the same. When the rotating speed is low, the positive pressure difference between the left and right supporting wheels is larger. The inner cylinder, middle cylinder and outer cylinder of the three drum rotary dryer are equipped with lifting plate and guide plate, which makes the moving track of materials relatively complex. At present, the most common in the market is the four drive three cylinder rotary dryer of the same specification, and the current difference of four drive motors also proves this point.

It is obviously unscientific to drive three drum rotary dryers of different specifications with the same transmission mode. The correct way should be individualized and customized. For the three cylinder rotary dryer with diameter less than or equal to 3m, double drive can be adopted (according to the rotation direction, the driving supporting wheel should be set at the heavy load side); 4.2m diameter Four drive can be considered for 3 m three cylinder rotary dryer, and two groups of different driving power of the deceleration motor are used (according to the rotation direction, the driving supporting wheel corresponding to the high-power deceleration motor shall be set at the heavy load side; the driving supporting wheel corresponding to the low-power deceleration motor shall be set at the light load side); while for the three drum rotary dryer with diameter ≥ 4.2m, the edge friction transmission mode shall be used It is difficult to drive, so edge gear transmission (or edge pin tooth drive) must be adopted.

2. Edge pin tooth transmission mode

The transmission efficiency, reliability and stability of the edge pin gear transmission are obviously inferior to those of the gear transmission, so the following improvements can be made:

(1) The manufacturing accuracy and installation accuracy of gears and pin wheels can be further improved by means of special fixture (such as drilling template), so as to ensure the meshing accuracy (the position accuracy of each pin, the concentricity between pin wheel and outer cylinder of three cylinder dryer is particularly important).

(2) Improve the overall stiffness of pin wheel to ensure no deformation after loading.

(3) At the same time, the service life of pin and gear is prolonged, and the reliability of transmission is further improved.

3. Edge gear transmission mode

The connection between the big gear and the cylinder with the edge gear transmission mode is particularly critical. For the large-scale single drum dryer, the common connection method between the big gear and the cylinder is the tangential connection of multiple spring plates. Because the working temperature of the dryer cylinder is higher than 300 ℃ and the working state is normal temperature, if the flange type rigid connection is used, the related parts will expand and contract with cold, and the local stress will be large, and the connecting bolts of big gear may be frequently cut, which will seriously affect the system operation rate. So related industries have been using spring plate tangential connection for decades. Practice has proved that the spring plate connection mode has some problems, such as low efficiency of transmission system, high impact noise and poor reliability. The working condition of the three cylinder rotary dryer is different from that of the single drum dryer. The working temperature of the outer cylinder is less than 70 ℃, which is close to the normal temperature. Therefore, it is suggested that flange connection be used instead of spring plate connection. Practice has proved that only by ensuring the concentricity of the big gear and the cylinder, and the manufacturing and installation accuracy of the big and small gears, can the spring leaf connection have high transmission efficiency, low impact noise and high reliability.

4. Improvement of key parts -- supporting wheel and tyre

The three drum rotary dryer with various transmission modes has the same appearance with supporting wheel, so its manufacture and installation directly affect the reliability and stability of the system. The supporting device of the three drum rotary dryer is composed of two sets of the same supporting parts of the supporting wheel, and each supporting device is composed of a pair of supporting wheels, four bearings and a large base.

In order to maintain the perpendicularity and roundness of the cylinder, the installation of each supporting roller must meet two requirements: (1) ensure that the center line of the cylinder is in a straight line after installation; (2) ensure that the two supporting wheels at the same gear are subjected to the same force as much as possible, so that the two supporting wheels are worn evenly. For the edge gear drive, edge pin tooth drive and center drive three cylinder rotary dryer, the phenomenon of supporting wheel slipping is relatively rare, which is relatively easy to meet these requirements; however, the wheel belt and supporting wheel of the edge friction drive three cylinder rotary dryer, in addition to supporting function, also have driving function, so it is relatively difficult to ensure that the two supporting wheels wear evenly. It is difficult to avoid the slippage of the supporting roller during the startup process and overload, which will aggravate the wear of the supporting roller. Of course, the serious wear of the supporting wheel is always on the heavy load side, and the lighter wear is always on the light load side. Therefore, the roller material with relatively good wear resistance (no less than ZG310-570) can be selected for the heavy load side, so as to ensure the uniform wear of the two supporting rollers as much as possible, and ensure the long-term stable operation of the three drum rotary dryer.

Considering the advantages and disadvantages of the above transmission modes, we suggest that the edge gear transmission mode should be preferred instead of the central transmission mode. The edge friction transmission mode can be considered for small three cylinder rotary dryer, but the included angle between the axis of the two supporting supporting rollers and the central line of the cylinder body must be greater than 90 ° and the double drive mode of supporting wheels shall be adopted as far as possible; the edge gear transmission mode shall be preferred for the large three cylinder rotary dryer, and the edge pin tooth transmission mode shall be carefully selected, but the gear pin wheel shall be manufactured and installed Put forward the corresponding requirements. So as to improve the reliability and operation rate of the three drum rotary dryer, reduce the maintenance cost, and bring positive impact on the progress of the dryer.
