Reasonable selection of grinding equipment can improve grinding efficiency

In the grinding process of concentrator, the selection of grinding equipment is obviously a very important issue. Appropriate grinding equipment can speed up the grinding process and improve the grinding efficiency. So how to choose the right grinding machine from the numerous grinding equipment? 1. Lattice ball mill

The main advantages are: the discharge end is equipped with lattice plate, the discharge liquid level is low, the product can be discharged in time, the phenomenon of over crushing is light; the processing capacity is higher than the overflow type ball mill of the same specification. Its main disadvantages are: large ball loading, high power requirement, complex equipment structure, large maintenance and heavy equipment weight. The upper limit of grain size of grid type ball mill products is generally, which is commonly used for section grinding.

 Ball mill

The main advantages of overflow type ball mill are simple structure, small maintenance amount and fine product particle size (generally less than 0.2mm); the main disadvantage is that the processing capacity is smaller than that of grid type ball mill of the same specification, which is easy to cause over crushing phenomenon. Overflow type ball mill is generally used in the second and third stage (or middlings regrinding) grinding operation, and can also be used for section grinding operation. When the diameter of the mill is larger than 3.6 mm, overflow ball mill is often used in section grinding. For such large-scale mills, the hydrocyclone is usually closed-circuit (there is no spiral classifier with corresponding specifications). The overflow type ball mill can reduce the content of coarse particles in the discharge of the mill, so as to reduce the wear of slurry pump and hydrocyclone.

2. Rod mill

The main advantages are: it has a certain selective grinding effect, the product particle size is relatively uniform, less over crushed particles; compared with the ball mill, it can accept a larger feed size (the upper limit of feed particle size is generally 15 ~ 25 mm); it is suitable for rough grinding, and the upper limit of product size is generally 1 ~ 3 mm; under the condition of rough grinding, the production capacity is higher. Its main disadvantages are: it needs to stop and add rods, the operation rate is lower than that of ball mill, and the output is low when grinding. It can also be used for the grinding of two stages of the ore.

3. Autogenous mill

The main advantages are: large feed size( The feed size is generally 200 ~ 350mm), so it can replace the medium and fine crushing and coarse grinding operations, reduce production links and dust pollution (refers to wet self grinding), simplify workshop composition and reduce the area occupied by the concentrator; it has certain selective crushing and grinding function, with less over crushing; it does not consume or consume grinding medium; wet autogenous grinding can avoid conventional grinding for viscous ore with more mud and water In the process of crushing, screening and other operations blocking problems. Its main disadvantages are: in general, the power consumption is higher than that of conventional grinding; the operation rate of equipment is slightly lower than that of ball mill; it is sensitive to feed particle size and grindability, the production is easy to fluctuate and the operation is complex. Due to the problems of dust pollution and abrasion of air system, dry autogenous mill is generally only used in arid and water deficient areas or under the condition of dry separation.

4. Gravel mill

It is commonly used in the second stage grinding operation of two-stage grinding. The gravel mill can use the massive ore screened out from the crushing system as the grinding medium, or the gravel discharged from the gravel cave of the section autogenous mill or the naturally formed gravel (Pebble) in the sand quarry as the grinding medium. The main advantages of gravel mill are: no metal medium is used to reduce the steel consumption of grinding; for rare metal ore and non-metallic ore dressing plant, the pollution of iron on the beneficiation process can be reduced and the separation can be improved. Its main disadvantage is low treatment capacity. Therefore, in the same scale of concentrator, compared with steel medium mill, the mill size is larger (or the number of mills is more), and the infrastructure investment is also high.
