Method 1: determine the center of the kiln by measuring the distance between the reference vertical plane and the cylinder in the horizontal direction

For the suspended hot rotary kiln, this kind of measurement method is not very convenient in operation. The main problem is that the distance between the horizontal reference and the cylinder body is measured. It is difficult to estimate the human error and certain risk when the surveyors are close to the high-temperature kiln body for high-altitude operation.

In addition, in the measurement, we determine the center of the kiln by measuring the distance between the reference vertical plane of the rotary kiln and the cylinder in the horizontal direction, which needs to set up equipment at high altitude, which increases the difficulty of system installation, so this monitoring system is not adopted.

Method 2: three points on the circle are known to determine the center of the circle

Before the formal measurement, we measure the positions of three different points on the kiln to determine the central position of the kiln. This method does not need to measure the diameter of supporting roller and kiln body, which reduces the indirect error in the measurement process. When the contact sensor is used for measurement, the high temperature and vibration of the hot rotary kiln shell will have a great impact on the measurement accuracy. The laser sensor on the ground is proposed to be used in the monitoring system to avoid the measurement error caused by the vibration of kiln pier.

Method 3: determine the center of rotary kiln by knowing two points and diameter

This method mainly determines the center position of the kiln by measuring the positions of two different points on the tire and combining the diameter of the tire. In this way, the diameter of the tyre should be measured at the same time. It should be noted that the measurement of tire diameter usually brings some errors to the measurement results.
